This is who the Sanctimonious Underground has in their line of fire this week? Someone who has done more than anyone to educate and promote the cause of the economically disadvantaged when it was all but off the radar in the last election?

How do you know what the plans are for the place? What if the big building is slated to be a leper colony? What if the sports stuff is for inner city children that will be bussed in in the summer? I'm not saying it is, I'm just saying you don't know that it isn't.

Damn! I did not mean this to be another Edwards house thread - I was trying to make the point that targeting Edwards on this issue is just so wrong. It's is very much like the Freepers saying John Kerry wasn't brave ENOUGH as a war hero. Or that Al Gore was TOO smart and not humble enough.

Kind of a Democratic Bizarro World where someone's virtue becomes a vice that is then used against them.

3. By the way, the class warfare I'm talking about

is directed towards POLICY, not people. I want this country to make sure that ALL citizens have things like

affordable healthcare
decent housing
education
a clean environment

People should strive to attain the best possible standard of living for themselves as long as they then do not chortle "Ha! Ha! I've got mine!" and roll the drawbridge up and pour boiling oil on the masses below. (Like these crappy overpaid CEOs who dismantle companies, lay off workers and devastate entire communities so they can purchase 60K shower curtains)
