Could Clark be waiting until Feb. 19 to announce....???
Monday, February 19 will be Presidents Day. Also, if Wes announces an exploratory committee on that day, it will be at the beginning of the news cycle for that week and would be sure to make the evening news.

Also, to everyone who says that all the big donors will be (or are already) locked up by Senator Clinton, Senator Obama, and John Edwards...is there some rule that a donor can contribute to only one presidential campaign? Why can't all of these wealthy Hollywood celebrities and media moguls write multiple $2,100 checks out to various candidates?

Anyway, I really hope that Clark decides to get into the race. If he does, I'll be weighing a decision between him and Richardson as far as who I'll support, and probably make a decision by the early-summer after some debates have been held.

1. Yes, he will be announcing at my birthday party.

3. Lucky you! What a nice BD present that would be.
I'll be wishing you Happy BD on the 17th... if I remember. I certainly will remember if he announces that day.

4. My birthday's in August, BUT...
...when the General announces he's running, I'll very gladly accept it as an early birthday present!

6. You are correct about the limits....
I believe that the limits are per candidates, not per election cycles.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Election_Campaign_Act#Contribution_Limits

Also, a lot of what we "hear" and "read" about donors being snapped up is misleading and is being done to discourage the democratic process of allowing many candidates into a race instead of just the corporate media's hand picked selected few.

It works very well!

8. Oh, I know!
Anything to help coronate "Ms. Inevitable".....

But I do wonder why people assume that Clark won't be able to raise any money to compete with the other candidates? Regardless of whether you're a public figure who's donated to Clinton, Edwards, Obama, Richardson, or anyone else --- why not hedge your bets and write a check out to The General, as well?

Didn't Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen support Clark last time around? So even if it's true that a majority of celebrities are getting behind Obama, why does that also preclude them from contributing to Clark or the other so-called "long-shots"?

9. Yes, Ted and Mary campaigned for the President last time...
and "getting behind" really doesn't mean much anymore.

Clark had Madonna's seal of approval, and they actually dogged him about that.

Clark in fact had the backing of many celebrities....but at the end of the day, we...the little people can make all of the difference in the world! :)

And we should....cause at some point we have to send the message that this is our Democracy, not theirs to manipulate. Whenever I think of how much influence the media attempts to force onto us during election season (and every other time) it makes me very sad and depressed. :(
