Another Edwards house thread
Just some a couple of quick questions.

Is there a actual picture of the house? I've looked at a few of the thread, but haven't seen an actual picture.

What's the size of the place and acreage its on?

Depending on the area of the country a 6 million dollar house can look a lot different. 6 million dollars in LA or NYC looks a hell of a lot different than 6 million in Indiana or Ohio. I would assume North Carolina is closer to Indiana on what a person could get for 6 million dollars. I was thinking maybe people from a place with overpriced real estate might see his place, and think he's really living the life of luxury. Heck my place is around 3000 square feet, I have friends in the LA suburbs who paid 5 times as much for 1/3 as much house.

19. if you call him ambulance chaser, you clearly know nothing about him
read his book, or, better yet, any serious account of his practice - he is the opposite of your characterization.

22. Those cases are disgusting
He is certainly part of the problem. All lawyers who handle medical "malpractice" claims are. A disgrace. Disgusting. He not only got rich off other people's greed and misery, but he stabbed the entire system in the back by failing to pay his fair share back to the system. The man obviously has no morals whatsoever. Thank god under a socialized system his kind would be utterly unnecessary. I can only hope that one day his massive swollen disgusting palace is repossessed to pay the debts to society he so clearly owes.

24. I can't vote for anyone in the primary
I'm a resident alien. If I could vote, I'd vote for Hilary. I couldn't offer full support to Obama until he starts to have a few opinions that actually qualify as actual opinions.

17. No, that's not comparable.
That house is 24,000 square feet, with 7 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, plus the sports building, and other out buildings.

Edwards house alone is about 9,000 square feet.

3. The Indiana Governor

I plan to make T-shirts, buttons and hats in the future with this logo. Mitch used green and white on his campaign signs with the saying "My Man Mitch", it's basically parody of them.

But it occurs to me that Mount Vernon and Monticello were fairly upscale digs, but Washington and Jefferson were still pretty good presidents.

Edited on Mon Jan-29-07 04:45 AM by RiverStone
Any VERY HUGE house anywhere is not good for our one planet earth. And this has nothing to do with whether Edward's would be a good President - we ALL need to adopt a more environmentally aware attitude to curb Global Warming.

Per Al Gore:

9. And What Did You Do Yesterday?
Edited on Sun Jan-28-07 09:31 PM by benny05
To fight the esclation of the war (which Edwards is totally against the escalation) or support energy conservation to in order to get our bills down and fight ME oil addiction?

Here's what John and Elizabeth Edwards were doing..(helping winterizing a house in Wilkes-Barre,PA)

Is this what you want: smear his compound, even though he fights for most of us?

Glad you are so mighty above the Edwards and think they should live in a shack. Bullshit. They care about us. And it's not just a photo op. Elizabeth blogged when she could, when she wasn't busy helping John yesterday. They were in a house that needed some attention. They were doing a good thing.

If their Chapel Hill house is spacious, I say more power to them, and especially making it green in infrastructure. Yes, even though they are well to do, they don't wish to overconsume.
