Applause Getting Lighter

Shortly after 9/11 and the beginning of the War in Iraq one of the best way to get an applause, if you were a Republican, was to say something like "stay the course", "we must get the job done in Iraq", or "leaving Iraq now would be a sign of weakness". It seems the applause for those lines is getting smaller. This morning on the Today Show I saw a clip of Rudy Guliani sayinng something similar to the quotes above but getting little applause. I guess that some of these people are beginning to think that at some point Bush may need to recuirt their kids if this war keeps going. I guess they are thinking we cannot keep this war going if my kid has to go to Iraq.

I realize that the light applause might have been that the line is coming from Guliani. However, it seems that a few years ago no matter who you were you would get an applause for saying one of the above mentioned quotes or something similar. It seems that even Bush is having a hard time getting the military to applaud his statements. They just seem to sit there and give light applause if any at all.
