Latest polls show very few want another Republican president
http://pollingreport.com/wh08gen.htm

Look at current polls conducted on this question of who you will vote for? Then look at some older polls. You will see the democratic candidates almost always gaining ground over the republican candidate. My take is that the Republican hopeful in this election will be happier if GW just left the WH because the more time he spends in power the more ground they will lose. I feel the way people like Brownback are coming out against the president's plans for increased troops shows he wants him out of the WH purely for political purposes.

Look at the other question Newsweek asked:

"At this point in time, do you personally wish that George W. Bush's presidency was over, or don't you feel this way?"

Wish it was over: 58%
Don't feel this way: 37%
Unsure: 5%

Remember the republicans do things for political purposes only. They did not get rid of Clinton because he was popular. But I strongly believe they will get rid of Bush because they know it will help them politically.

1. Our nominee should come right out and say...
Vote for me and we'll be OUT of Iraq as soon as I take office-they'll get elected

3. Sadly, we've come to accept (or not truly respond to) liars in office.
Of course, enough becomes enough in the right context (drafts, etc.)
