1. Rep Waters is a woman who is NOT afraid to talk truth to power despite what the
polls express. One only has to look back to the seating of the Ohio electorate after the '04 theft! Who screamed loudly and who was silent about the disenfranchisement of Democratic base voters?

8. Maxine sided with black community on CIA drugrunning while Bill Clinton was covering up
for Poppy Bush.

Unfortunately, the corpmedia makes sure that most in the black community don't make that connection.

Maxine Waters is one brave woman.

See BET's documentary American Gangster for more on CIA drugrunning/IranContra connection for more details that include clips of a very outraged Maxine Waters who took up the issue in the House even as a Democratic president was allowing the story to be denied.

24. Dec. 11,12, 1998. House Judiciary Comm.:"Let history record that I fought
against the impeachment of the President of the United States (Bill Clinton)in every way that I know how". That's Maxine speaking up for BC. It would seem that if he covered up for Poppy, and thereby thwarted her efforts, she was able to get over it.

28. Of course - just as 99% of the Democrats stood and fought for Bill Clinton when he

was UNFAIRLY attacked. Now, please mention how that loyalty was reciprocated for others in tough battles where they were being targetted UNFAIRLY.

At some point, oasis, Karma WILL kick in.

And be mindful that Maxine was loyal in this regard even though the FACT REMAINS that Bill Clinton sided with George Bush, protecting him from the revelation that CIA drugrunning was a sanctioned operation that dumped tons of the cheap cocaine from their IranContra dealings, INTO black communities all over the country.

THAT is an inconvenient truth that stands on its OWN. There is no explaining it away.

27. The CBC proved their loyalty as Americans over 6 years ago
When they stood up for the duly elected President of the United States, Al Gore, and attempted to end the coup d'etat against this nation. Not one senator stood with them, including the DLC senator who was himself the duly elected Vice President.

If it was a CBC member vs a DLC'er for the nomination, there's no contest at all. I vote for the candidate who put AMERICA first.

4. Maxine to visit Cindy Sheehan or campaign with Ned Lamont or to aid Gary Webb
in his investigation of CIA running crack cocaine for Iran/Contra(Dark Alliance)then definitely yes.

But if we're talking president----Hillary by a bunch.

5. On DU, Hillary would lose in a poll titled, "Hillary vs Anyone". Outside here, not the same
There is a comparable amount of gossip, mischaracterization, spin, and innuendo started about Hillary by more than a few posters here as what one would find on any of the right wing hate radio shows, yet the lady still polls at the top of all Democratic candidates in polls taken BY mainstream Democrats across America. Funny that.

This is a discussion forum mtnsnake, if certain DU posters wants to offer criticism of Hillary Clinton...it's there right as Americans and it's not Republican-like to offer criticism of a fellow Democrat if they deserve the criticism and it brings up valid points. Just like when people here were all over Kerry bashing him, while I could defend him in reality I can't change others opinion.

Hillary is polarizing: get over it!!

It'll be an issue before the nomination, if she gets the nomination, and if she wins the Presidency.

And if you seriously believe those NATIONAL polls (not in the states that matter like IA- where she is fourth) a YEAR OUT mean anything....you have another thing coming!

And FYI, Hillary isn't the only one around here who gets criticism. I have no sympathy for her, she'll either prove herself and get the nomination or she won't!

Either way, I'm voting Democratic in 2008 :)

I agree, but it's funny how that same logic never applied to those of us who criticized Kerry for his faulty campaign. :)

Edited on Mon Jan-29-07 02:43 PM by Kerry2008
I wouldn't raise a stink about it. I'm not here to silence anyone. I may raise a stink with the points in your post, and what can I do in that situation? Defend John :) Which I'm more then happy to do....

No one should question Democrats or compare them to Republicans if they offer criticism of Hillary!

My statement still remains: HRC doesn't deserve any sympathy. DU is free to question her qualifications to be President, and more then free to supply criticism. If she's tough, she'll pull through it all and win the nomination. But again, like I said, no matter what she'll be seen as polarizing. Even if she wins the Presidency!

Edited on Mon Jan-29-07 03:10 PM by AtomicKitten
Your posts are indicative of a faux Democrat yet you work feverishly here; me thinks the disconnect is that HRC that is, in fact, not the faux Democrat, ergo your opposition to her and your quest to hamstring one of the strongest Democrats. God forbid that the Dems win 2008. That'll teach 'em, right? Having worked for a Green Party newspaper, I can usually sniff out third party mantra.

Wouldn't it be cool if we had the first female African-American President? As long as it isn't Condi Rice though!
