"I blame all of this on liberal parents"

There's been a great deal of news on the gulf coast about the way some New Orleans Saints fans were treated by Chicago fans during the big game a couple of weeks ago. Profanity, taunts, snowballs, signs such as: The Bears will finish what Katrina started; threats after the game etc. Nothing earth shattering about fans behaving badly.

However, in this mornings Gulfport paper it is all explained in an anonymous "Sound Off"

"I blame ALL of this on liberal parents, they teach their kids no respect and let them do whatever they want."

So there ya have it. No empirical data, no statistics, nothing but from the heart information that the conservatives have used to change the tone in America.

5. Somehow I doubt that people throwing snowballs and yelling profanity

are the offspring of "liberal parents". Intolerance and aggresiveness don't seem to me to be traits valued in a liberal environment.

Every since liberals passed laws to protect children from abuse thats all I been hearing from our wing nut friends. Gang bangers, rappers, child crimes are all the direct cause of children not getting the snot beat out of them with a paddle or belt. Whats worse is that school teachers and principles are not allowed to beat kids either. Now kids are out of hand because they know all they have to do is yell abuse. As if thats not bad enough then you have all these single mothers raising kids without a father to lead the kids. Without fathers around who is there to show kids how a real man handles life's situations. You know, the neighbor parks 1" on your property and you go beat the snot out of the neighbor, very important that kids know how a real man handles things. Btw, I have heard wing nuts say all of this. The one I really enjoyed was the one about the 11 year old that just got released from detention after spending 7 years in for murder. Instead of rehabilitating said kid, they felt the money would have been better spent building more prisons.
