Snowe, Collins to co-chair McCain (Presidential exploratory) group
PORTLAND -- U.S. Sen. John McCain's presidential exploratory committee announced Monday that U.S. Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins have been named to serve as co-chairwomen for McCain's presidential exploratory committee in Maine.

It's clearly a "McCain for President" endorsement from both women, their spokesmen confirmed. Snowe, in a statement, said McCain, has a proven track record to address the nation's challenges. The Arizona Republican is considered one of the front-runners for the 2008 GOP nomination

Jake Ward, spokesman for Snowe, acknowledged that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, another presidential hopeful, had recently spent a lot of time at Snowe's office.

3. Snowe is actually a smart, thinking person. Why's she doin' this?
I know Collins isn't the bright one in this equation.

7. I would have hoped these two sensible women would have had
better political instincts.

I think John McCain is moving deep into Ahab territory.
