ARE YOU FOR AL GORE IN '08- SHARE WHAT YOUR DOING ABOUT IT
I'm trying to get an idea of who's doing what out there in the effort to convince Gore to run in '08.Are you just talking about it or have you made a move to get involved some how? If so how are you involved? What idea's do have that might help in the move to convince him to run. If he doesn't run then how do we stay connected as a grassroots movement to support the causes he champions out side of the political arena. I'm extremely interested in getting your input. Remember there is strength in numbers!!!!

1. I just changed my avatar from Kucinich to Gore--
I was a delegate for Dennis in 2004 and I love all that he stands for, but sadly, I think he is a visionary ahead of his time and therefore, would never be elected by the current American population. It actually sort of upsets me to replace Dennis...

Al Gore, however, has the potential to save us from environmental disaster, restore diplomacy, and make being "intelligent" respected again. I would love for him to take back what was rightfully his--the presidency.

Changing my avatar is just the beginning...

2. I'm all for Gore to run for re-election in 2008
Edited on Tue Jan-30-07 12:50 PM by sweetladybug
Everyone I talk to wants him to run. People who have never been into helping anyone get elected have told me that they would campaign for Gore and send money. I'll work my butt off to help with his re-election. I wish all of us Gore supports could meet on a certain day in Carthage TN and scream at the top of our lungs and with signs begging him to run. We need to let him know he has a VERY strong base of supporters and he is exactly what our country needs in order for us to get back on the right track. (he could be the next FDR)

GORE 2008!!!!!!!!

11. THAT'S GREAT
Your right everyone is talking about it. It reminds very much of the excitement over Robert Kennedy. Take the next step if you haven't already and join a Draft Al Gore Meetup Group at Meetup.com

9. The proper form is "your picke isnt thou?"
arnt is a trilateral frickative and should only be vocalized prior to the vernal equinox.

You'd be doing something besides harrassing a man who already is doing something about it.

8. OK, you've made your point. Posting the same message on as many
forums as you can... hey there are many more.

Do you really have to SHOUT this? Do you really think that SHOUTING will make your message more credible?

(How do I know? like many, I started with the "latest" forum and your shouting message several times really stood out).

17. I don't think Gore's going to run. There's no fire in his belly.
He has to WANT it because he wants it, not because others want it for him.

19. I am spreading the word
You might have seen some of my posts here on DU.

Each one ends with a bunch of links to pro-Gore websites.

My hope is that people will get curious and follow the links.

It sounds simple - but nobody else seems to be doing it! :-(

Let's all find ways to show our support for Al Gore! :)

20. I am hosting a meetup...
Edited on Tue Jan-30-07 03:45 PM by crispini
as well as working on the Draft Gore campaign. Click on the links in my sig to look for a meetup near you, or if there isn't one, and you would like to start one, AlGore.org will pay for the meetup host fee and make sure you have a mentor to help you through the process. PM me if you have questions!

Also, our meetup is not restricting itself to just Al Gore as a candidate. We are including a Global Warming element in each meetup so that we don't feel like we have just wasted our time if he decides not to run, as is his right. If he does not run, we are going to turn our meetup into a Global Warming meetup and try to get our city to sign Kyoto and other activist items.

Edited to add: okay, just saw your sig -- haha -- you should include a link to your meetup in your sig as well. Also, you might want to try some other forums, dude, I've seen you on here a ton of times in the last few days. :D
