1. Hitching his wagon to Bush on escalation...
Is pushing him down fast...

I wouldn't be entirely surprised to seem him give up the ghost at some point...

We might see a race between Guiliani and Romney...

Newts negatives are waaaay to high!

3. Oboy, this is great
Newt has called for the repeal of the first amendment. The town drunk could beat him in an election.

4. Please, let them nominate Newt
His politics (which are horrid) aside, when was the last time an out-of-office congressman won the presidency? An ex-speaker?

Run Newt, run.

8. Thank you
I hate always being the first to have to make the "Newt Gingrich cheats on his wives" joke. People start to expect if from you, after a while.

7. Yep. "President Newt" NFW! Bwaahaaahaaahaaa.
Those two words alone are enough to turn away most voters.

9. Gingrich, Mr. Wolf, Is My Dark-Horse Wager For The Republican Nomination
He has been working the rubber chicken in the style of Nixon in the mid-sixties, and built up a lot of chits and local party officials' support....

The republicans are trying to re-live the nostalgia through
Mr Gingrich. It will be just that...a wet dream.

12. Newt can't win... NONE of the GOP's current crop can win.
None of their candidates can beat ANY of our front runners (Clinton, Obama, Edwards and hopefully Clark).

The GOP's coalition between the Christian Conservatives and 'cloth coat' republicans has been SHATTERED. That coalition allowed Bush to win with only paper-thin margins... now the coalition has been essentially broken. Traditional conservatives will not turn out for a GOP candidate who talks to God instead of his advisors. Christian conservatives will not turn out for a candidate who doesn't toe the line on EVERY issue that they find important.

NONE of the GOP's candidates can mend the gap between these two crucial electoral factions. 2008 is going to be an electoral "rebuilding year" for the GOP.

Gingrich would get his ass kicked.

He embodies the worst of republican congressional values (well other than Delay) - and with the beating those bastards took in November, I doubt there is much desire on the part of Americans to have those values continued at the presidency (after all Gingrich's values are Bush values).
