2. He's been 'announcing' for months
What's different about this announcement?

I guess that means we'll be seeing even more of him (if that's possible) on the Sunday talk shows.

3. My gut tells me he probably won't get far...but
He should not be underestimated...he is a good speaker, debater, and has a good sense of humor...

4. Bad cycle for Joe to run
I really don't think his campaign will gain very much traction this time, what with the excitement of Obama's arrival and the long awaited Hillary Clinton run. Edwards is also soaking up plenty of money and has hired away some of the best campaigners available.

Then again, I don't suppose Biden has much choice. If he is to take another stab at the White House it's now or never.

6. He should not have dropped out in 1988...
Compared to what candidates are accused of now, a little plagarism would hardly make a ripple...

He mighht have been able to get by it...

7. I would have thought so
My understanding is that the plagiarism charge was more hot air than substance anyway.

9. It really was...
I think politicians overestimated how damaging something like that would be...

That would never knock someone out now...

Don't know if he would have won the general in 1988, but I suspect he would have run a better campaign than Dukakis did...

5. This was expected.
He will not go far, I don't think.

But to each his own.

8. Most announcements by a single candidate?
It has to be the record.

10. Nope, no votes for warmongers
As someone stated earlier, Biden was duped by a dope.
Not a leadership quality.
