Real Reason Feingold Will Not Run in 2008
I may be wrong, but I think everybody learned the real reason Feingold decided not to run for President in 2008. I think Feingold knew he would try to stop the war in Iraq by ending the funding or by any means neccessary. I think he may have thought that if he pushed for not funding the military in Iraq people would not vote for him. I am not trying to criticize Feingold even though I am not a supporter of the idea of not funding the military in Iraq. I would like to find another way to end the war. I just think his reason for not running is that he felt he had to choose between ending the war and being President and he decided to end the war. Maybe Feingold mentioned ending the war when he announced he would not run, but I thought I only heard him say he just wanted to focus on getting things done in the Senate.

I still like and respect Feingold. Furthermore, I am pretty certain that if Feingold did decide to run for President in 2008 I would be much happier about the race and would be happy to vote for him. In addition, I guess this shows that he would probably be one of the best people to run for office. I guess we and this country need more people like Feingold. As long as I have known of Feingold I have seen him stand up for what he think is right no matter what he has to risk.

1. You are misleading
no one is suggesting we leave our troops in Iraq with no funds. We want to give them the funds to get out. Stop repeating talking points from Bush please.

4. Not Misleading
I said I do not agree with the idea. I was not trying to bash Feingold. I just said that since he is pushing for not blocking funding people probably would not vote for him so he decided to just fight to stop the war and give up on being President. I do not think I have used any language that Feingold has not used.

2. because unlike Edwards, Obama, and Hillary, he recognizes that he has a...
responsibility to fulfill in the senate to the people of his state. I live in NC and like Edwards, but I think that he was wrong to run in 2004. He had not been in the senate very long and I believe he owed more to the state (which no has two republican senators).

As a Wisconsin native, I am especially proud of Russ. Keep up the good work.

7. That would be cool, but I have mixed feelings
I'd really hate to see Feingold leave the Senate.

6. Yep. No candidate currently running has taken a firm anti-war position.
Yeah, I know what Billary and Obama are blathering about now...something they literally began doing this week...that will only sell with people who don't care about what their records are or were. And good luck to both senators in sticking to this rhetoric.
