US Congress 'has the power to stop Iraq war'
So why are they "slow walking" as Sen. Feingold has said? There are no excuses.

--- Washington - The United States Congress has the power to end the war in Iraq, a former Bush administration attorney and other high-powered legal experts told a Senate hearing on Tuesday.

With many lawmakers poised to confront President George Bush by voting disapproval of his war policy in the coming days, four of five experts called before a Senate Judiciary subcommittee said Congress could go further and restrict or stop US involvement if it chose.

"I think the constitutional scheme does give Congress broad authority to terminate a war," said Bradford Berenson, a Washington lawyer who was a White House associate counsel under Bush from 2001 to 2003.

"It is ultimately Congress that decides the size, scope and duration of the use of military force," said Walter Dellinger, former acting solicitor general - the government's chief advocate before the Supreme Court - in 1996-97, and an assistant attorney general three years before that.

1. Along with obama's "resolution" there
are about seven now that want to end the war and bring home the troops. Why are they making such a big deal out of Obama's and not the rest.

3. Congress should be held accountable....
If they don't start to work hard to put an end to this war! We need to hold their feet to the fire, and have them all stand up tall to the President.

We have the majority, and we have the great leaders in Congress. Let us stand up, and bring an end to this tragic and messy Iraq war!!

6. they could have ended it a long time ago but have been too cowardly
and complicit--funding has been voted on several times since the invasion--an unnecessary invasion that they could have prevented to begin with. So now they have yet another chance but so far all I see is a DUMB@$$ "nonbinding resolution." Gee, don't overreach or anything ... :eyes:

7. Yep, voted on funding 5 times now ...
I believe. The last supplemental in 2007 was approved 394 - 22.

I don't think we only had 22 members in the House in 2007. Even Ms. Pelosi voted for it.

Nonbinding resolution, what a joke and a waste of time!
