Idea: Can Democrats call an emergency session in the middle of the Republick National Convention...
to vote on a whole bunch of stuff while the Republickers are safely out of the way?

For example, an Impeachment resolution?

1. We'd have to have the numbers
to make impeachment stick.

3. Only if they don't tell the Re-Pubics about it.
The ones NOT up for re-election in 2008 would probably skip the convention in order to "defend" fascism.

4. I imagine they could
but it would be seen for what it was: a cheap, underhanded political trick, and it would backfire horribly.

Honestly, I don't understand the strong desire here to see Dems be assholes.

6. Probably because the Repubs were assholes
and it took several elections for them to be called on it.

I don't think we should be assholes, but the temptation is there. Like threatenting to use the 'nuclear option' in the Senate and removing the filibuster.

5. It's called "having a quorum," and we wouldn't have one.

By parliamentary procedure, a certain number of members must be present to do business.
