10 "presidential candidates" to speak at DNC winter meeting this weekend...here's the scoop.
Edited on Tue Jan-30-07 09:38 PM by Clarkie1
WASHINGTON, Jan. 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Democratic National
Committee will hold its annual winter meeting to highlight "Strong
Leadership for America's Future" in Washington, DC from February 1-3, 2007.
The meeting will feature presentations from the Democratic Presidential
contenders on their visions and ideas for America's future.

The candidates will join more than 400 DNC members from around the
country, DNC Chairman Howard Dean, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid
(D- NV) to talk about the strong leadership Democrats are providing now in
Congress and around the country and will provide in the White House.

The following presidential candidates will speak at the winter meeting:
Sen. Joe Biden, Gen. Wesley Clark (Ret.), Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Sen.
Chris Dodd, Sen. John Edwards, Sen. Mike Gravel, Rep. Dennis Kucinich, Sen.
Barack Obama, Gov. Bill Richardson, and Gov. Tom Vilsack.

"After six years of failed leadership from the Bush Administration, the
American people want new leadership in the White House," said Democratic
National Committee Chairman Howard Dean. "Our Democratic leaders in
Congress are working to make government work for every American, and the
talented and diverse group of presidential candidates joining us this
weekend are proof that we can bring the same kind of vision, talent and
strong leadership to the White House. Democrats are energized and ready to
build on our Party's successes, and we're confident that a Democrat will be
America's next president."

12. I am a direct mail consultant
I've mostly worked with legislative and down ballot races. A congressional here or there and some Independent expenditures. Trying to break through the stranglehold that the larger firms have on the business.

13. Good luck!
I would much rather see our Dems use younger, more driven talent than the old-time firms who have, frankly, gone a bit stale.

16. Yeah - but if he did (or does), then he would have been
drowned out by all the others.

The media gives him little play as it is. I don't know why, though. He's handsome, articulate, a general, a Southerner with mid-Western roots. He's like a movie model for a president - but he's real!

and I'll never forgot how he helped one of my friends when tragedy struck her family. He's such a decent guy.

18. My husband served under him in pre-war Bosnia.
He never got to meet Wes, but he said that all anyone could do was rave about the SAUCER - about how decent and smart and good to the men he was.

He said that was one of the best run bases he worked on - and he worked on tons because he had several temp assignments as a translator.

20. Our MVP is missing from the starting line-up
I agree with Howard Dean that the American people want new leadership in the White House.

But new leadership is not enough. We need principled and effective leadership.

It's very clear to me that Al Gore is the best-qualified person for the job.

I predict that the race for the Dem nomination will stay wide open thru the Fall.

It means that Al Gore can take his time and consider his options. Even if he announces in November, he will still sweep the primaries.

Unless and until Al Gore endorses one of the other candidates, it is only reasonable to assume that he is keeping his options open.

Let's all find ways to show our support for Al Gore! :)
