Good on Imus, not so much for Col. Jack Jacobs
There are numerous times when I get the urge to throw something at Don Imus. However, it does get me moving and he does have interesting guests. The good part: Had it not been for Imus, his consistent requests for contributions to this great cause I would most likely had not heard about the wonderful rehab center that opened up in San Antonio on Monday. The Intrepid Rehabilitation Center is for our returning vets who have been severely burned, have lost limbs, etc. Imus had them on in the morning and interviewed many of of them, along with great music (Big & Rich)and other forms of entertainment. My point here is there was little or no coverage of this wonderful rehab opening through contributions from we citizens. No Fox, (who love this war),none of the other media outlets, no Vice President or President for that matter (too much guilt to be able to look them straight in the eye perhaps). I checked all day long to see if this wonderful opening was on the news, but considering MSM, none. During this morning's show Imus mentioned that he had a wonderful conversation with Susan Sarandon and how his opinion of her had changed. He stated how smart and nice she was. Col. Jack Jacobs who was sitting on the set was shocked that Imus could make such a positive remark about a person "like her." Imus, sensing what was coming, asked him why?? "She was great, I really enjoyed talking to her." Jacobs said "people like her and Tim Robbins should just keep quiet." Jacobs is a military personage for MSNBC, often spewing his thoughts and opines on the war. A retired military Colonel who has problems with Freedom of Speech, etc. really disturbs me. The RW comes in many stripes and colors but if Jacobs had a problem with Sarandon perhaps he should have just "kept quiet." Many kudos to Imus, he worked very hard on this endeavor, contributed heavily himself and called on his wealthy friends to do the same. Our government contributed nothing, if they did, I haven't heard about it. Blech....

3. Jacobs is actually one of the more tolerable TV generals.
Surprised at his comments.

4. Interesting post--thank you.....however just a suggestion.....
Could you please break up your future posts into smaller paragraphs?.....cause I had to force myself to read what you wrote...which I believe has to run counter to your goal of writing it.

8. Funny .. I watched quite a bit of coverage of the opening on MSNBC all day.
Without subjecting myself to Imus, I might add!

Stopped watching his wishy-washy ass when he had Cheney & wife on ... now that was some super sucking-up to behold! Add to the sucky-up list as needed: Lieberman, Santorum(sp?), McCain, etc. He's needlessly impressed by some of the rightwings' best & loudest.

He changes his views more than his underwear, usually landing on whatever viewpoint his little RW producer buddy (can't remember his name) is pushing at the time.

Since I don't watch, can't comment on Jacobs other than to say that's disappointing to hear ... I thought he was better than that. But until I hear him say it in another venue, I'll hold any opinions in reserve.
