Does no one hear the war drums beating Again?

Much in the way of intel concerning the possibility or probability of bush pulling the trigger on Iran is becoming louder and clearer. Why is no one listening? Why all the talk about Obama/biden? More People could be dying by the thousands within a month, according to some analyst and no one seems to notice, at least on the Hill.

The more I hear Bidens comments making big news, and Edwards house, etc. I want to scream. We could very likely be entering a big ass war and no one is paying attention. Mostly our politicians representing us.

3. I have heard those war drums for some time now. I am disgusted and frightened

that so many are discussing attacking Iran as so matter of fact with no regard for the sheer insanity of it and the dangerous consequences.

The chatter on the networks sounds as if they have already accepted that it is going to happen but they don't know how soon.

I cannot fathom how my country has sunk so low that bombing, killing and invasion is the accepted norm.

5. Intriguing speculations, but I don't buy it

There's too much to lose, and not much verifiably that can be gained, by attempting to bomb their 70 or whatever nuclear sites. Push their nuke program back 10 years (if lucky)? In the meantime rachet up radicalism and anti-Americanism. Unlike the Iraq war, I don't think there's any neoconservative calculus saying that this is a good idea. They had been writing since the early 90s about how positive it would be to do what we did in Iraq (well, sort of). But this does not fit the theory. Iran is supposed to fall from within, not get toppled from without. So with them years away from a bomb, what do you gain? You put world oil markets into chaos, and perhaps US and world economies as well. And all you (may) do, is push their programs back several years. This would not be a regime change--the same leaders would be there. All you do is quadruple overnight the amount of global anti-Americanism. I just don't see the positive in this, even through the eyes of any of the Neocons.

7. You are assuming our present administration understands

the ramifications of attacking Iran. I wish I had your confidence. It appears they don't. We thought bush knew what needed to be done in Iraq once we took over. Couldn't have been more wrong. They "said" they thought we would be welcomed and all would go well. All that was needed was to have elected officials running the country.

So, to assume they know the consequences of bombing Iran would be foolish. All hell will break out in the ME and our poor troops will be caught in the middle. Oh, and our ships off the coast will shoot off rockets and planes and do more bombing.

Congress needs to discuss this immediately. Even closed sessions would be a start since this is secret stuff.

The lead up to the Iraq war wasn't that long ago. I remember the bs being thrown around the media.

Edit: I agree with your assumption and explaination that attacking would not be beneficial and that this admin. knows that. How I wish I had your confidence as I too don't think anything good for years could come out of it.
