While DUers bash Clark he bashes Bush. . .how is this for a quote?
-snip-
"As Americans gathered to celebrate the traditions of the holiday season, the Bush Administration practiced its own tradition - rolling back environmental protections when most Americans weren't looking.

It's wrong to announce gifts to your special interest supporters under cover of Christmas. American needs leadership that puts the people's interests above the special interests. That's the kind of leadership I'll bring back to White House."

1. It's
nice to see at least someone is focused on something important. Surely, it isn't us bashing back and forth in here.

2. The tough thing is. . .
. . .criticism of all candidates is good and we need to do it, but it seems like people have no problem crossing the line from criticism to bashing. I feel most of my criticism concerning Dean is valid, however I am sure many will see it as bashing. I think there was some major useless bashing going on today, but there is nothing wrong with criticism.

3. I've pretty much come
to the conclusion that even mild criticism is pretty pointless. It isn't likely to be too convincing to anyone and will most likely result in escalating retaliation, etc. When I think about creating such a thread, my first question to myself is: why?

What am I really hoping to accomplish. In reality, even with the most mild criticism, I'm usually motivated by trying to at least imply my guy is better. Who cares. I'm better off handing out flyers downtown.

5. My total support to any candidate ...........
who can stand up and say what we on DU are all about. There is a time for unity and solidarity. For all I read here on DU, all the research we do, the hard fought fight we have carried on and all we have defended and supported to expose Bush's policies, I will truely applaud ANY of the candidates who echo our efforts.

Clark speaks solidly, and with undeniable intellect. His attacks on Bush are always exact and unchallengable. I am proud to support him

Dean, Kerry, Edwards, and the others, all may have a different approach to policies, but the underlying thread and common ground that EVERY ONE of them carry is that George Bush has failed this Nation, failed the World, used the power of the Presidency for profit, abused our basic rules of democracy to pad the ways of his cronies and returned to the American people nothing more than lies and deceit.

I have ONE political mission in this New Year, and that is to stand and support wholeheartedly ANY candidate who can use his voice during this campaign process to tell the World what has become of our once world-proud America, while warning clearly what destructive results will follow for the USA, if Bush is allowed 4 more years to sellout the our Nation to his biggest corporate crony.

Thanks Blaze

6. Many that engage in bashing are solidly behind their guy. Information such
as this is valuable for the undecideds out there who need to know where candidates stand on the issues.

I'm a Kerry supporter but thanks for providing this positive piece.

7. This is one of many reasons
to support Clark in the campaign, not waste our energies on useless discussions of cut and paste attacks on DU.

There is a letter writing and phone calling campaign going on at clark04.com. Instead of spending a hour fighting with someone that has already decided who they are voting for, spend an hour talking with someone who hasn't. I did it starting last weekend, I'll finish the first week in November. Give it a shot, what do you have to lose? (yes, it is a trick question).

9.  Many supporters to hang around to keep the fleas off of their candidate
and to deflect the ton of disinformation that is flying around out there.

10. I wish I could believe that he means what he says,
I can't. His recent past denies his words. He was either lying then or now. Either way, he can't be trusted.

14. Erm...Uh
of course you have a file full of references to back this statement up correct?

Not that you don't have a perfect right to an opinion on the matter, but as it stands at the moment you seem to be trying to pass off your opinion as fact.

Poor tactics that.
