To Mr. John Kerry
The Media helped you and the Media will destroy you. Beware!

Only the wise will vote for you come November. I will, reluctantly.

1. Insulting to every Democrat who has voted for him.
Kerry was getting no media oxygen in 2003 and came out of nowhere to take Iowa by storm. He's maintained the momentum through every primary to date.

Maybe, just maybe, more Democrats want Kerry to be their next President?

2. Insulting to every intelligent person on the planet.
Anyone who doesn't believe that Kerry's rise was a product of the Media has been hookwinked. I'm sorry to inform you, but Kerry is nothing with out the support of the Media and it will be his downfall in Nov. unless he brokers some great deals with the media mogels (oh, wait, he already did by not going after the new FCC rules.) Wake up and realize that Kerry is 21st Century Media product and it will be the loss of the Dem Party to select him as a candidate.

5. Sounds like you bought your own baloney.
No doubt that Kerry has name recognition among Democrats...he's only been in the public eye for 35 years. Try as you might, you can try to convince the posters here that Left is Right and Up is Down, and the media "created" Kerry, but your observations don't square with the facts.

Maybe people just looked at his overall record and character and decided he's the one that best reflects their idea of a winning candidate in November. Now is that concept too difficult for you to get your brain around?

3. I agree
From what I saw in the media before Iowa, Kerry was dead in the water. He may have little support on a message board such as this, but as the primaries and caucuses have shown he does very well with your average Democrat. There was a lot of pre-Iowa hype surrounding Dean because of his vocal supporters, but once the general populace started voting it became clear Kerry is their choice. I think the media is just calling it like it is.

4. Came out of nowhere my foot
* Osama bin Laden ads
* Push polling against Dean (anti-Semitic to boot!)
* Robo calling pretending to be Dean at 3 and 4 in the a.m.
* Plants in the Dean campaign posing as precinct captains and then sabotaging the efforts
* Vilscak machine -- and I do mean machine
* Gep-Kerry deal
* Lots and lots and lots of negative press for Dean (unremitting) combined with lots and lots of "electability" Iowa press for Kerry (Vilsack machine or influence again?)

Yeah, he came out of nowhere all right. A Nowhere called Hell.

8. Gee, he wasn't playing by Dean's Marquis of Queensbury rules?
Kerry's campaigned in the big leagues of Massachusett's politics, Eloriel. Maybe it's a good thing to know that Kerry can play hardball...that's what we're going to need to beat the Republican Party this fall.

But, hey, I got some Kleenex, if you need it.

:-)

10. you're guy couldn't take a punch
and it's a good thing we found that out now.

Politics is a dirty business, and I'm glad our nominee is going to be an experienced, savvy pol like Kerry.

7. I don't remember Kerry bashers complaining a couple months ago
WHen he mortgaged his house to keep his campaign alive. He was mocked here by posters relentlessly and in the media. He was on life support.

As you said, just maybe more Dems want Kerry. That's what's so hard for Dean supporters to truly grasp. People don't like their guy.

And for the record, I voted for Edwards in my state's primary.

9. Certain supporters are, shall we say, "emotionally attached" to
their candidates. They're unable to be objective about his obvious shortcomings and project his problems on an evil conspiracy that seeks to undermine his rightful nomination.

Alas, about 50% of the Democratic voters to date have seen fit to disagree with their assessment. They take this way too personal.
