The world will be better off with a "collapse"
Edited on Thu Mar-01-07 02:35 PM by ProudDad
"US commanders admit: we face a Vietnam-style collapse

Elite officers in Iraq fear low morale, lack of troops and loss of political will"

http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,,2023865,00.html

On Edit: This paragraph jumped out at me:

"Possibly the biggest longer term concern of Gen Petraeus's team is that political will in Washington may collapse just as the military is on the point of making a counter-insurgency breakthrough. According to a senior administration official, speaking this week, this is precisely what happened in the final year of the Vietnam war. Steven Simon, the national security council's senior director for transnational threats during the Clinton administration, said a final meltdown in political and public backing was likely if the new strategy was not seen to be working quickly."

WHAT REVISIONIST BULLSHIT!!!!!

There was NO F*CKING WAY THE U.S. could "WIN" the Vietnam occupation attempt. You CAN'T WIN against the majority of the population of any country!

That war, just like IRAQ, is totally, completely un-"winnable" in the tactical sense. Let alone any consideration of the morals of the U.S. occupation, which the bushies ignore since they're immoral.

1. I think the world would be better off with a RESPONSIBLE United States
acting in the world to guard its interests, but also acting to promote and defend the peace and stability of the world and international law, not a weakened United States that has started an illegal war, and subsequently lost a strategic battle against Islamic militancy that has heightened tensions between Shia and Sunnis in all parts of the Islamic world. But to reach the better world that I'm talking about we would need a time machine to go back to December 12, of the year 2000, and undo the treason of the Rehnquist Supreme Court against our democracy, may it rest in peace.

4. I don't want any Rehnquist Supreme Court to rest in peace.
I want them to wear atomic underwear and burn in what ever hell they worshiped for what they did. They put those jerks in the White House and committed the greatest sin ever committed in the history of our country. Burn Baby Burn!

2. We've been "on the verge of a major breakthrough" for three years
now. "Victory (whatever that is) is just around the corner" and "the insurgency is in the final throws", etc.

America is sick of it and tired of paying enormous sums for services not rendered. He's just afraid that congress will take away their toys.
