Geo Soros just did this to Haliburton?

It is all over the financial news media today that George Soros
just invested $67 MILLION in Haliburton stock! I guess if you
can't beat them, join them, must be his thinking? Else why would
he buy 2 Million shares of Haliburton which was run by Darth Vader
Cheney before he ran for VP? I don't know if this is a good move
by George.

1. Maybe he's looking to get a seat at the table

and embarrass the hell out of them or maybe dig up the real dirt from the inside.

He'll have some oversight of the company.

4. The time to invest in Halliburton would have been before

we went to war in Iraq. The stock tripled in value the first year. I don't know why it would be a good investment today. However, maybe Soros is trying to get a controlling interest in the company for political reasons. Could be interesting if he ends up becoming Cheney's boss. Stay tuned.

7. U R right, all oil stocks are very high right now...

but may be they will keep going even higher. Demand for
petrol is increasing by double digits in highly populated
countries like China & India.

if you consider rising demand and countries like norway and iran that have hit peak. hell, the whole world has likely peaked in terms of production. more deman dthan supply will be bad. to bad that's all we use here, thanks to bushy.

Carter saw the light and wanted to move in a different direction.
He wanted us to cut down on use of fossil fuels.

Reagan, Bushes & Clinton are all guilty of doing nothing to wean
us away from imported oil.

I read, but wouldn't this give him some clout in the proxys? I mean that could sway a vote and unseat some of those who have been entrenched in the boardroom.

a majority holder. He is a vulture capitalist just like the rest of them. On social issues he is a progressive, but he is a free trader all the way.

us should invest in Halliburton. I have a feeling George is going to be calling them to account in a different way than they are used to. Imagine if he had some other like-minded people holding shares--obviously we wouldn't be in the $67 million bracket, but it could really be a wake-up call for some of the old hands at H'burton!

19. He's digging for dirt

Michael Moore joined the NRA to dig up dirt, remember?
The funny thing with that is, repugs called him a hypocrite
(tunnel vision), and they'll do the same with Soros even after
he drops the bomb on Haliburton.
