Despite the fact that the Fire Commissioner himself stated on April 10th, 2001, that he was unhappy with the amount of testing that had been done with the radios before they were issued, in an article dated march 26 2001 in Newsday (page A-13 written by Herbert Lowe), Mayor Rudy Giuliani was quoted as saying, "This isn't about reality. This is because the union is bitter over the fact that the Commissioner had to discipline a few people and they are being petulant." - Page 176

2. Yes, I know. Thanks for your post of the excepts.

It's all I could find on short notice. I first heard about this a year or so ago on KGO (ABC) radio in S.F. Christine Craft was the host...she was going on and on about it.

I'd like to find more about what is there, or hope other DU'ers will and spread the word. I have not read the book, and I'm not trying to provide free advertising for the book. Just trying to get information out there and accessible.
