And I like that Hersh fella too. Question:

2. Scott's already been swiftboated...
they tried to pin some suggestion of child sexual abuse on him... BS undoubtedly, but this only goes to show how desperate a caged animal is the Bush* admin.

Ritter is a Republican, by the way...

3. I Didn't Know That. My Hubby's Comment A Moment Ago:
"He might be a republican, but he's no bu$hie."

6. He's sharp, he's intelligent, repeatedly "correct" & no "bushie"
I respect him a great deal. But, he's no Lib/Progressive, either.

8. Not only that
He was accused of receiving money from Saddam's government, no less - at the time when he was a weapons inspector in Iraq.

Even so, before the Iraq invasion you could see Scott Ritter on CNN. The anchors would talk over him, but he'd still get his point across so much so if you saw him, you knew there were no WMDs to be found in Iraq.

9. I never heard the accusation of Iraqi $$ ... you're not confusing
him with George Galloway by any chance? Galloway is the British MP who has been accused of taking $$ from Saddam in the oil for food bullshit...

Ritter might have been accused of that as well, but I never heard about it.

4. I watched it earlier and thought about Ritter for prez, too!
The program is good, but both of them are pretty much stating that we're in trouble regarding Bushco** and Iran.

5. He's the one that convinced me prior to the Iraq invasion, that it
was all fabricated evidence.

7. Ritter is the Truth
his work on the WMD, and his work on Iran, and the dynamics of the ME is without parallel.

10. Ritter should get the Nobel
as far as I am concerned. During the pre-war he was the ONLY voice out there and he paid the price for it. When Scott said there were no weapons, I knew he was telling the truth. He always had credibility with me, going way back to the sanctions and what it was doing to Iraq. Incidently, the so called "sex" charge was chatting online with a 15 year old girl. It was a set up to discredit him. Major Scott Ritter always has been a hero to me.

11. I saw that last night on FSTV too!
I thought it was great. It was filmed in 10/06. Most ironically, I watched Bill Maher right after that, and Sy Hersch did a great job speaking on that program!

I did some research. Apparently, Mr. Ritter thought he was talking to a sixteen-year-old - and he only was charged with a misdemeanor. He pled and the agreement was either dismissal or expungement if he stayed out of trouble. I believe that, had he done anything significant or serious, he would have been charged with a felony. That was in 2001. It really does seem as if he was set up.

He's always been very knowledgeable and very articulate; he seems like an American hero to me. I'm glad that some momentary bad judgment didn't prevent him from being an advocate for informed assessment of Middle East matters.

12. The Bush Junta and their war profiteering corporate news monopolies and
their lapdog reporters, columnists and "talk" commentators are so bad, so deceitful, such scum, with such enormous powers of spying and black ops, that we really, really, really MUST automatically dismiss anything they allege about a powerful critic such as Scot Ritter. When. Are. We. Going. To. Learn?! How many times do we have to go through these smears and "swiftboatings" and obvious set-ups before we learn to be 100% skeptical of every word they say about any effective and major critic, whistleblower, and opposing politician?

This is their modus operandi. This is what they do. They have illegally obtained dirt on everybody in Washington DC and everyone in the media--and probably on every leftist activist and blogger in the country--and if they can't find anything, they will CREATE it. How many victims of this do we have to suffer before we smarten up? We have to be ready to get peoples' backs. These are the filthiest, most ruthless, most unscrupulous sons of bitches ever to walk the earth. We MUST get that through our heads.
