Why do "Republics" keep saying this?
SEN. GRAHAM: "...The Democrat Party is the dog that caught the car. What do you do now? The left is saying get out yesterday. The reason we don’t have a vote on cut off funding is because the American public understand that’s responsible..."

From today's Meet The Press. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/17378926/page/3/

I had to rewind the DVR three times to make sure I heard it correctly and then I checked the transcript.

How can ANYONE in politics not know how to correctly pronounce the name of a major party, unless they're saying it on purpose per Republic talking points?

And this, from an individual who reportedly went to law school? :wtf:

Note to self: Don't go to Lindey Graham's law school.

2. Republicans are juveniles. Really stupid juveniles. Because they
think they are being cute. But, we know the edict came from one person or group and they all obey. So smart. So clever. Yes, cute.

3. They have been doing this for decades.
I was in line to vote in the DemocratIC primary, sometime in the 1980s. I got to the table where the officials look up your name, etc., and a sour faced woman asked me if I was "in the republican or democrat primary". I said "Neither, it's the DemocratIC primary" and smiled in a not friendly way. She got quite ILL, and threw my slip to me to sign. I wonder she did that to anyone lse afterwards?

4. It's not worth getting upset about...it just shows you where their brain is
Whenever someone says the "Democrat Party", I just assume they are for the immoral war, the immoral deficit, the immoral ignorance of stem cell research, the immoral decay of the middle class, the immoral justification that the top 1% get a free ride and don't pay their fair share for the commons and that they actually believe that Ronald Reagan was a good president.

It's a stain on them when they mention the Democratic Party that way.

5. This commentary in the New Yorker explains it all....

"The IC Factor"

One snippet: (but you really should check out the commentary)

The job of politicians, however, is different, and among those of the Republican persuasion “Democrat Party” is now nearly universal. This is partly the work of Newt Gingrich, the nominal author of the notorious 1990 memo “Language: A Key Mechanism of Control,” and his Contract with America pollster, Frank Luntz

10. This began, as near as I can discern so far, with the
notorious Joe McCarthy, vicious neocon forerunner and shining light for republican criminals, sometime in the late 1940s to early 1950's.

It's a way of saying that they don't give a damn and know perfectly well they can insult and tweak the nose of "libruls" with impunity.

An unfortunately large percentage of democrats try to assume an adult point of view and ignore such childishness, but these criminals will not outgrow it.
I do not think it so unimportant and am convinced that such belittling and insulting behavior should be responded to vigorously and angrily.

This is not unharmful, as it is a part of the whole effort to denigrate nicer people and it has been very successful.
Whether or not one finds it personally offensive, it goes right along with the wingers' penchant for words that describe anyone different from them including differences in skin color, religious background, ethnicity, cultural heritage, or national origin.

It is a hateful term and we should not allow them to get away with another painting of people they don't like.
