Sorry just been hearing about this all day and etc, I just think Kerry is better than many of us think he is. Yes I support Kucinich but Kerry is a pretty decent candiate and person IMO, and has a good record.

5. I think that he had a great record......
prior to the Patriot Act and the IWR.

It is only his recent history that doesn't make sense to me.

11. Dean would have voted for the Patriot Act...
... unless I'm very wrong. Even Wellstone voted for it.

Aside from Bush's antics, there were some good reasons to vote for the IWR, like the defense of our nation, and the long-term containment of a nutball like Saddam Hussein.

7. not too bad LC
Yeah he does. I am just as disappointed as VO is about the PA, but we have many other great senators who I would kill to have who voted for that thing :), and on IWR, it seems to me that many of the frontrunners were for a middle ground honestly, that is not totally in support of a war but not totally opposed. I wish Kerry had voted NO, then I would likely support him, but I see the honorable Senator Kennedy who has been a vocal critic on the war has endorsed him, I think Kennedy should do what he can for him, it might rebuild the campaign.

she can pay off the loans. It's just a way around the campaign finance laws.

4. I don't really care, frankly.
If he does [poorly in both states, then he has every reason to stop and consider whether there's any point in goin on, but my focus is on getting my candidate, Gov. Dean, the nomination. :)

8. Kerry's Presence in the Race
I think Kerry may do better in Iowa than expected. A friend from Iowa City tells me that it's Gephardt whose numbers are slipping there. Kerry has seen a modest rise. What if it continues and Kerry places second to front-runner Dean in Iowa?

Then New Hampshire is a more dramatic race. Dean's numbers in New Hampshire look insurmountable, but a Kerry second in Iowa could become a stronger Kerry second in New Hampshire.

After New Hampshire, the primary states might favor a several-candidate race.

We could see a deadlocked convention in Boston this summer.
