Hagel's using the word 'impeach'.

The hearings are getting the national dander up.

Hagel's using the word 'impeach'.

Democrats are scambling around looking for some strategy or other.

Hagel's using the word 'impeach'.

Democrats are taking things off the table.

Hagel's using the word 'impeach'.

We're ignoring our responsibilities and instead, counting votes in the Senate.

Hagel's using the word 'impeach'.

The Senate vote counters have become the naysayers about our morally imperative course.

Hagel's using the word 'impeach'.

I could go on and on, but, no matter ......

Hagel's using the word 'impeach'.

1. It would not surprise me to learn that the Republicans are the first to put impeachment
on the table. After all, the Bush Administration and their misguided (I'm being generous with that word) policies have brought shame and embarrassment on the GOP.

Not stopping 9/11 is the first thing, ignoring all those warnings beforehand...

Then Hurricane Katrina.

Then Iraq.

Then the Dubai Ports deal.

Now Walter Reed, and all those troops who are maimed and injured and can't get decent medical attention. Support the troops? Is this how the GOP supports the troops?

In order to shed the albatross that Bush/Cheney have become, it wouldn't surprise me to see the GOP lead the march to impeachment. After all, they have quite a few seats coming up for reelection in 2008, and they'd love to keep the White House.

GOP: They might eat their own when it benefits the party.

3. The naysaysers suggest we lose the WH if we impeach .....
I see it as you do ....... the diamterical opposite. Those who impeach will carry the white house in 08.

2. The Republicans would like nothing more than to get the albatross
of the Bush administration off their backs for 2008. Bush and Co. can't help any Republicans in 2008. It would be a huge jump start for Republicans if they were the ones to impeach Bush and Co.

4. Don't put too much stock in what he says...
because he's downright reckless in terms of his political career--I am convinced he is retiring from the Senate, and just doesn't care anymore. The other GOPers (and Democrats, too) will keep up their cowardly political caution until after 2008.
