If its a long sentence, like 7-10 years, then Bush would wait until the very end--like Dec 2008 perhaps--in order to avoid it impacting the election.

I don't think Scooter will spend a day in prison. I think his attorneys already have a plan in place where they can stretch out the appeals process until Bush can pardon him.
