Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) calls on President Bush to pledge not to pardon Libby:

I welcome the jury’s verdict. It’s about time someone in the Bush Administration has been held accountable for the campaign to manipulate intelligence and discredit war critics. Lewis Libby has been convicted of perjury, but his trial revealed deeper truths about Vice President Cheney’s role in this sordid affair. Now President Bush must pledge not to pardon Libby for his criminal conduct.

1. The judge should work out exactly how much time Bush has left in office
and sentence Libby to exactly that amount of time. That way the Dictator would have to pardon Libby right away to make it worthwhile - Bush couldn't wait till the end of his reign and do it...

planning on an appeal, so wouldn't that mean he wouldn't be sentenced? Or, he could sit in jail while that's happening, like all the other common criminals. :evilgrin:

5. An article I read elsewhere said that the mandatory guidelines
called for a sentence of from 1 1/2 years to 3. I am assuming that the way the ruling class is treated in this country that libby won't get three years. He should have to be in jail while awaiting appeal, but, again, the ruling class get special treatment...
