The republicans did a great job of knocking Walter Reed out of the lead news story
slot. Tonights news lineup - republican corruption and incompetence; where to begin. So much to cram into only a half hour national news show.

1. BOSS I think we can take this conviction and talk about it for a while
Walter Reed and all the problems of the VA aren't going anywhere.

3. I think its great
I made a living as a news director at a TV station along time ago. This is a wonderful problem to have. And I have every confidence in these band of criminals that there is fresh scandal(s) on the horizon that we have no idea of right now.

8. Yeah, I think so, too. I was watching MSNBC and an amazingly somber

Chris Matthews (okay, okay, maybe he's been sick lately - I suppose that could explain why he looked so bad and so cheerless, almost as though the libby verdict came down against him, personally), and the talk routed everything back to the war, the trumped-up reasons for war, the WMDs, and the three thousand-plus soldiers' deaths, and cheney's key role in it, and also the many, many wounded soldiers who were left as outpatients to rot amidst the mold and the mice and the dead bugs and the peeling paint and holes in the ceiling. Yep, it came full-circle directly around to that. Chris was connecting quite a few of the dots. Maybe THAT is why he looked so somber. Maybe he's suddenly grown himself a conscience. Maybe it's just starting to dawn on him just how egregiously criminal all of this is. Maybe he's reached the just-can't-ignore-it-or-whitewash-it-anymore point.

At least someone is making that point on the air.

What a horrible horrible shame this whole thing is.

10. Sheesh. No kidding.
:eyes:

Just imagine what the reaction would be if some Democrat did ANY of this.

4. If that's the best the pukes can do
I'll take it. As long as republic corruption and overall assholiness are mainstays in the evening news I'm all for it. Personally I find it nice that the media doesn't seem to be giving crashcart and shrub as much of a pass as they used to.

6. Don't worry, the vets and their supporters
you know, the ones who REALLY support the troops via money, volunteering at VA hospitals, sending care packages--won't let it go.

Donna Shalela and Bob Dole are heading an investigation about the VA, according to the news.

7. When troops stop being shipped home wounded they might have a chance,
until then VA affairs will never be very far from the headlines.
