3. Ghouliani may be the guy
what better way to give the fascist a leg up on the competition for the 08 nom. especially considering his sorted past as far as social conservatives are concerned.

4. Is it a leg up??
Or a kiss of death?

I would think that anything associated or endorsed by this administration would be a near sure loser in 08. I would suspect that the candidates are going to try to distance themselves from the operations of this administration while trying to claim they were with them in ideas, but not execution.

5. Whoever it is, they will not run for pres in 08
Distance from BushCo is the only way their candidate will have a chance, joining BushCo guarantees a major loss.

6. Wouldn't this doom most of the major GOP candidates, then?
They lurve Chimpy, at least in terms of their support of his war. I hope they go down with his ship, but a year or more from now they may all start backpedaling and repositioning themselves. My fear is that they all start sounding vaguely anti-war (the GOP base, with finger in the wind, will give them permission), thus leaving the Dems high and dry in terms of being on the right side of the issue.

9. I'm thinking Mittens but Condi's a maybe.
Chimpy is not going to want to have to deal with a hard headed nutjob like Rudy--it would be like having to work with his mirror image except that Rudy has a brain.

McCain's been salivating for the job and Bush will enjoy denying it to him.

Condi, maybe, but Laura's going to be pissed.

Mitt Romney seems to be the Bush's boy right now and he'd look good standing next to Nancy Pelosi at the State of the Union Address too.
