Why was John Edwards "Absent in Action" on Tweety Tonight...about Libby Trial?
I felt bad for him...when Tweety went after him time and time again and Edwards could have volunteered Info about the Coulter DISS (DISGUSTING POF from HER) he gave "very lawyerly responses doing "Yes and No" and Weird.

Get the transcript (YouTube will probably have it) but EDWARDS HAD A CHANCE TO Deflect and Bring Up his own stuff with Coulter...and he behaved like a "trial lawyer?"

Only explanation I can think of is that Elizabeth told Edwards to forget TWEETY and his SHOW and GO FOR THE INTERNET! (Caveat: If Edwards was my Hubby, I would have told him to GO FOR INTERNET..and forget Tweety, too. But, that would mean that I really am rooting for Edwards...and to do FULL DISCLOSURE...my own experience with Edwards as MY SENATOR...is that he ALWAYS CAVES UNDER PRESSURE....like the IWR!

But, I wonder if he isn't doing a clever strategy in treating Tweety like a toad..cockroach.

OR...DID HE MISS and OPPORTUNITY? I don't think I could give Tweety an opportunity...or the rest of the Media if I could get more traction on the Internet.

I'm not sure about his Strategy...Maybe it will work, or not.

3. Excuse Me? I've never been on a John Edwards blog!
Edited on Tue Mar-06-07 06:17 PM by KoKo01
Only place I visit is DU and I do have posts about Edwards here in NC Forum and here in archives because I worked for him to be elected against "Pig Farmer Lauch Faircloth." We worked hard and donated "little money" to Edwards (but it was big money for our pocket books) to get him in the SENATE as OUR REP from NC! We here in NC were trying to OVERCOME THE JESSE HELMS INFLUENCE for us Southern TRANSPLANTS.

The VIDEO will be up on CNN...watch it and then come back and prove what I say is wrong...and that it wasn't upsetting. I said in my post...that Edwards might have given up on Tweety...read what I wrote.

15. Why would CNN run a video from MSNBC?
I thought Edwards was great. He did not dignify Coulter by giving her more than just a nod. He did not give Matthews an opening for flaming headlines.

Granted, anyone talking with assurance and dignity compared to Matthews pomposity and shrill would come out ahead. But Edwards was, yes, careful not to provide sensational headlines about Clinton or Obama, Coulter or even Cheney.

This is, after all, going to be a long campaign.

16. I agree with you that Edwards "kept his distance" from Tweety...but he Missed
an opportunity to be more "Pro-Active." And, being "Pro-Active" agains Repugs or Tweety Media has been a hopeful part of those of us working to get our Democrats back in power. Edwards lost an opportunity...but it might have been a good calculated political move in that he's given up on the "Corporate Mainstream Media" like the rest of us.

Problem IS! The Corporate MSM is what we are living with and dealing with. So, a calculated guess to abandon them...means that many Americans searching for news ...missed him and he gave away an opportunity to STRIKE BACK in a way that would have BROADENED HIS SUPPORT past his BASE.

8. I thought, myself, that it was calculated by Edwards not to lower to Tweety Standards
but...I felt that in this case with Libby ...that Edwards had a chance to promote his website to get "Anti-Coulter Money" and he should have put in a PLUG with Tweety and distracted Tweety (which isn't hard to do) and he kind of "Blew It."

Just so you know..Unless Gore comes in...I'm looking for our DEM HERO...so I'm hoping ALL OUR CANDIDATES STAY "IN THERE" in case Gore doesn't come in.

I'm hard on Edwards because of his "GREAT PROMISE" to Stuggling Americans" ...but I also am hard on him because HE "WAS' My SENATOR!

I'm just speaking my piece.

11. You know....I wanted to GET PAST "Pandering" back before Clinton....
It's sad that "Pandering" takes the place of "COMMON GOOD FOR ALL."

I thought I was a Democrat...because we believed in "Common Good for All." I thought so...awhile back..:-( ...i thought so.

12. In any event- I'm not even sure Edwards was pandering at all.
All I am saying is that I dont mind it when Democrats say things that I agree with- some on DU call it "pandering"- but I think it is refreshing after the days when DEMS were often saying things I did NOT agree with.

14. Howard Dean did good. I like it when Dean "panders" (AKA-says things I agree with) too.
The only problem with Dean is that when Wolf asked him whehther Bush & Cheney lied, he would not give a straight answer- but he still gets an "A" anyway.

Edited on Tue Mar-06-07 09:10 PM by Gloria
on video and don't know what you're talking about.

Edwards was clear and crisp and didn't allow Tweety to spiral out of control.

Why allow all the Coulter stuff to wreck the interview?? Edwards was quite succinct without wasting time with Coulter's crap. He did fine!!! He left plenty of "doubts" hanging about the CPACers who applauded Coulter...which is the way you want it.

20. He was acting like a Lawyer and only parsing carefully his answers...
when the opportunity was for much more. But, as I said in my OP, maybe it's a waste of time to even bother with Tweety. And, I might have done exactly what Edwards did. Except that since he was my Senator...it smacks of how he treated those of us who were begging him to explain his Co-Sponsoring of the IWR with Lieberman. He kind of blew us off. So, there's a part of me that wished he could have handled Tweety the way Howard Dean handled Blitzer when Blitzer really went after him about Libby Verdict and if that meant Bush/Cheney were liars.

 It's my opinion. And, I donated and worked for John Edwards Campaign here in NC ....so I do have an interest in him.

26. I saw both segments of Hardball last night...
The earlier one had JRE for a full 15 minutes and he did great on the topics of Libby/Coultergeist/and a snark by Chris making him comment on Hillary's new accent.

The later show, was edited to only include the Libby comments.

Johnny Reid did good :toast: Not sure if that answers your question koko?

27. Thanks...didn't know Tweety's Show was Editing...guess it depends on which CUT
one has access to as to how one sees the show. I wonder if they do some kind of polling so they can cut the parts that some find "offensive" and promote the ones that "focus group polling" thinks viewers will like.

At least Olbermann with "One Shot" doesn't have to go through that crap.

Thanks for your post!
