Fitzmas my butt.
Edited on Wed Mar-07-07 08:39 AM by sellitman
Maybe I am looking at this wrong but from what I see the whole bush cabal got off Scott-Free yesterday. For all his toughness Fitz was a Republican Lawyer who just served up a softball for his home team. Scooter ( bad name for someone entering prison no? )Libby just took a shot for the team and now will be pardoned by Jr. so fast our heads will spin. Like the jury said....where are the rest of the criminals? Why only go after Libby? This doesn't pass the smell test. Tell me what I am missing?

*edited for spelling.

2. Get over it!
That's what they want you to do. GAme over.

But wait, wasn't a whitehouse official convicted of obstruction of justice? Why did he obstruct and lie. What was he covering up? Who has the onus of finding out? The justice department? Huh? The same one that put Bush in office? FAt chance. Thank your lucky stars we got one conviction, even though the bastard will be pardoned by the puss in chief.

The only justice in America these days is the one that comes to the highest bidder. Got cash?

3. Fitz is NOT a republican.
Go back and read his press briefing when he first indicted Libby. He said he's not registered to any party.

Did the * administration get off? Who knows. Time will tell.

Remember Watergate? It started with a couple of guys and a break in.

5. that is how I feel too.
Fitzgerald says they were lacking sufficient evidence due in part to Libby and others obstructing the investigation. I wonder, tho, if it is not a done deal. Appease the masses, send em a scapegoat who will be paid handsomely and pardoned in the end.

Perhaps I have too big a tinfoil hat.

7. ..fitzgerald is not registered with any party
he was brought to chicago by a republican to clean up the democrats and destroyed the republican party in illinois
he can not go any further because scooter did`t roll over on cheney
we do not know if bush will pardon libby
last but not least-fitzgerald and the jury laid open the whitehouse for the world to see and it is up to the democrats to start impeachment hearings..so save your disgust for the democrats if they fail to do their job.

8. Almost but not quite..
After the court determines the request for a New Trial and an Appeal by Libby's defense team,
Joe Wilson is preparing to rake Libby over the coals if their requests are denied..
The Civil Suit is where Wilson's attorney has the latitude to reach deeper into 'the scheme'
responsible for the public disclosure of Plame's secret identity.

Criminal Prosecutions such as Libby's are more narrow and limited in their scope. The primary
reason, Fitz couldn't really get at Cheney except if he became a witness for the defense.
Then perhaps, he could have gotten to Cheney during his cross-examination.

We shouldn't loose heart. Fitz did very well. He worked very hard. He worked this case for years
to get a conviction. All the evidence accrued during the trial can be used in the expanded forthcoming
Plame Trial. It's all up to the Judge. A good Judge would deny both of the requests by Libby's defense team..

we shall see..
