Texas progressives meet Kucinich, Van Os, and more this weekend
(cross-posted in the Texas forum)

Progressive organizations and individuals from all across Texas are coming together on Saturday, March 10 in San Antonio, to network and build alliances so we can all have a more powerful political influence, both in Texas and nationally, and YOU are invited.

The annual statewide meeting of the Progressive Populist Caucus (PPC) and the Progressive Alliance Conference of Texas (PACT) are both occurring this Saturday at the same location to make it easy to attend both events.

The conference is at San Antonio's Northeast Service Center "Toolyard" at 10303 Toolyard, in northeast San Antonio. It's on the south side of Wurzbach Parkway---between Perrin Beitel and Thousand Oaks --- west of I-35 and north of the north loop I-410. The "Toolyard" is the very first building to the right when you wind in on Toolyard Road. You cant miss it with the impressive giant tool sculptures! The Google and Mapquest map generators do not work for this address. Use this instead:

There is plenty of free parking.

David Van Os will report about his populist campaign for Texas Attorney General last year as he toured around the state, and has some pictures of that to show us.

The keynote speaker for the PACT event will be Dennis Kucinich.

There will be a panel discussion on fair trade/free trade issues. Representatives from a number of other progressive organizations will also be speaking. A variety of different organizations will have tables for literature and other materials.

Following the above events, there will also be a fund raiser in San Antonio for Dennis Kucinich's 2008 campaign, followed by another that evening in Austin. Dennis Kucinich and his wife Elizabeth will be at both of these.

Lunch will be provided (regular or vegetarian) for people who REGISTER IN ADVANCE and who pay for lunch in advance. We must RECEIVE your registration by Thursday at the latest if you want lunch. You are welcome to bring your own lunch. Groups that want a table and who have not already registered should bring their own table. Organizations are welcome to bring literature, sell T-shirts and bumper stickers, etc. Fees for individuals and organization tables are all low, to make it easy for everyone to attend -- $10 for individual registration, $10 more for lunch if desired, $10 more for an organization table.

Details on the PPC meeting are at

Details on the PACT conference and on all events for Saturday, including registration, location, speakers, schedule, participating organizations, and more, are at http://www.paa-tx.org/node/2484

This is being updated regularly, so check back later this week for updates.
