It's been pretty clear from the hearings the
eight were fired for political reasons/punishment. But I had to look up the names of the other four. Here they are:

U.S. attorneys whose resignations have been sought by the Justice Department in recent months:
-Carol Lam, the U.S. attorney in San Diego, who successfully prosecuted former Republican Rep. Randy ``Duke'' Cunningham, now in federal prison. Her last day in office was Feb. 15.
-Bud Cummins, the U.S. attorney in Little Rock, Ark., resigned Dec. 20 and was replaced by former Karl Rove assistant Timothy Griffin.
-Paul Charlton, the U.S. attorney in Arizona, announced Dec. 19 that he was resigning at the end of January.
-John McKay, the U.S. attorney in Seattle, said he was ordered by the Justice Department on Dec. 7 to resign.
-Kevin Ryan, the U.S. attorney in San Francisco, announced his resignation Jan. 16. Ryan was overseeing investigations into steroids use by major league baseball players and the backdating of stock options by Apple Inc., and other firms.
-Daniel Bogden, the U.S. attorney for Nevada, announced Jan. 18 he will resign effective Feb. 28.
-David Iglesias, the U.S. attorney for New Mexico. An assistant announced Iglesias' resignation Dec. 19.
-Margaret Chiara, the U.S. attorney in Grand Rapids, Mich., announced Feb. 23 she will resign on March 16.
.....
But
why these other four? It just those little things that make you go hmmmm....Tinfoilhat time!!!???
Daniel Bogden was assigned to Nevada...coincidentally the home state of the Senate Majority Leader as well as one of those states that is being highly touted as cruicial for the 2008 Presidential race (just like Florida was in 2000 and just like Ohio was in 2004).
Margaret Chiara was assigned to Michigan. Can anyone guess which Congressperson is from Michigan?
Oh, and Paul Charlton angered Republicans when he openend an investigation into possible vote tampering in the Republican primary of September 2004. A Phoenix paper reported in February 2006 that the investigation was still going on.

Kevin Ryan's dasterdly deeds are listed ^^^ as the baseball steroids and back-dating stock options, but it also looks like he's not been to happy for a while. I dunno.
After a bit more googling, I stumbled on this site:
http://www.epluribusmedia.org/features/2007/gonzales_7_backgrounds_john_mckay.html(Unfortunately, it's not yet up to day and including Chiara)
Anyone have other ideas about these other four that did not testify?
