Romney Flip-Flop Speed Record?

The NH Union-Leader's top political reporter, John DiStaso, makes this observation today:

A week ago, in response to a question during an interview with New Hampshire Union Leader editors and a reporter, Mitt Romney said, "English needs to be the language that is spoken in America. We cannot be a bilingual nation like Canada."

Five days later, a Romney news release announced that the campaign had "launched its first Spanish radio ad."

is that the ad campaign just told all those illegal-types to speak English, goddammit. :eyes:

Edit: This is a joke, RSP, not a serious proposition.

First of all, you're now saying that flip-flops matter? So you're flip-flopping on the subject of whether or not flip-flops are important?

1. "Flip-flops" are completely unimportant. Intelligent people have the capacity to change their minds. That applies to everyone, and the Bush campaign against Kerry was just as dumb as this.

2. Assuming Mr. Romney still believes in his previous statement, there is still nothing wrong with him trying to reach Spanish-speaking people. He may well use the Spanish language to tell them to learn English. (EDIT: Beaten to this last sentence by Kelly)

3. The reason the flipflips are important for Romney
is that the conservative base is afraid that after the primaries he'll tack back to center and govern as a moderate, as he did in Mass. Personally, I'd much rather Romney be elected than an actual true-blue conservative like Brownback.

5. I really don't understand the Mittenfuehrer label.
He isn't a hardcore conservative. He's a weasel who bends however he must to please the majority of the voters. There's simply nothing there that says Nazi. I mean, it's not just a juvenile name, it's inaccurate.

8. Yeah, 'cause Hitler was such a flip-flopper.
One day he was all "I'm gonna invade England," then he was all "I'm gonna invade Russia," then he was all, "I'm gonna cause the deaths of millions of innocents," then he was all "I'm gonna provide single-payer healthcare to all the Jews of Austria."

9. Just a catchy name--I don't think anyone's seriously comparing
him to Hitler. Y'all need to lighten up...KellyRupertfuhrer...(joking!)

7. I agree. The OP's use of "fuhrer" everytime he posts about Romey or Giuliani is infantile.
Best way to get me to ignore your post? Make NAZI references in the subject line.
