A few of the Kucinich "objections" I've received....
I've handed out articles and discussed Kucinich with perhaps two dozen friends, strangers, and acquaintances in the last month.

I've gotten a variety of replies on the subject. It is rare to find someone that knows much. This week I asked a guy with an "Out of Iraq" sticker on his binder who he would vote for in the primary. "Don't like any of them," he says.

I later bring up Kucinich; As I've learned more and more about him I've had a better and better argument in his favor. After my spiel, he replies, "I always forget about him."

Today I challenged a friend who is an Edwards supporter. He was moved by what I had to say. It took me several initiations to get through.

I talked to another friend who objected to the dept. of peace. I asked him what he knew about Kucinich. "Nothing."

I tell people he is the only honest progressive running. No one ever denies it because we all know that almost all politicians are renowned double speakers.

We must vote for leaders who tell us what they think in clear terms, in order to have a clear expectation as to what we will receive in return.

2. Its not double speak and not even a bad thing. He has always shown integrity.
I have no doubt he will protect abortion as president.

Got anything else?

7. Here's what Dennis has to say about his record and stand on abortion.
Q: You started pro-life. Can you elaborate on what that was that made you change your mind?

A: I've always worked to make abortions less necessary, through sex education and birth control. But the direction that Congress has taken, increasingly, is to make it impossible for women to be able to have an abortion if they need to protect their health. So when I saw the direction taken, it finally came to the point where I understood that women will not be truly free unless they have the right to choose

I've had a journey on the issue . A year ago, before I became a candidate for President, I broke from a voting record that had not been pro-choice. After hearing from many women in my own life, and from women and men in my community and across the country, I began a more intensive dialog on the issue. A lot of women opened their hearts to me. That dialog led me to wholeheartedly support a woman's right to choose.

I want to work to make abortions less necessary, which means sex education and birth control. I want to work to make sure that, when life is brought forward, we have prenatal care and postnatal care and childcare and universal health care and a living wage.

IOW, I though I knew the answer, I found that I was wrong, in light of the facts, I've changed my mind.

I've got no problem with anybody that changes their mind for good reason. How often have you heard any other politician explain their reasons without any equivocation?

6. That's pretty much how I feel right now
I don't get the bitter arguments among supporters of the other candidates. They essentially boil down to who is the most appealing political celebrity.

I cannot see anything that would deter me from supporting him. He stands tall (physical height notwithstanding) over the rest of the field.

8. I think the common denominator we've all heard once you get someone's
opinion about DK is they just don't know much, if anything at all, about him or his campaign.

How to fix this?

First, let's try to figure out why this is a problem. Here's my take for a start;

1.) The M$M is so obviously slanted toward the corporate/reich-wing, when they deign to mention him at all, it's always disparaging and/or condescending.

2.) The Democratic Party movers and shakers don't like him, maybe because he doesn't demonstrate enough deference to their exalted positions, but whatever the reason, they marginalize and exclude him at every opportunity. This current congress is a blatant example, he was passed over for two chairmanships that, based on seniority and time on the committee, should have been his.

3.) He doesn't have the money. This one is simple, he doesn't support rule by and for corporations and that's where the big bucks come from now.

Are there more? Feel free to jump in and add to the list, or better yet, let's hear your ideas about how we can change this.

10. I think Kucinich should challenge Voinovich in 2010
If he could only win statewide...(I'm not saying he can't, I'm just saying he should prove himself by doing it)
