Priests to purify site after Bush visit

GUATEMALA CITY (AP) -- Mayan priests will purify a sacred archaeological site to eliminate "bad spirits" after President Bush visits next week, an official with close ties to the group said Thursday.

6. Since we've tried everything else

If we had our own group of Mayans to follow each Bush visit with chanting, incense, herbs and candles, to reestablish spiritual equilibrium, perhaps this national fever would pass.

It would be great if a group of American Mayans could go to Iximche and learn the ritual. We could provide them with a list of places the President has been.

7. Very smart. They know their stuff.

This is exactly why many of us can't stand to watch him. It's not an intellectual decision: I don't like this guy, but rather a visceral, intuitive inability to watch or listen to him. I have yet to be able to watch a single appearance of his in its entirety. My mind wanders, at the least, and I'm off surving the 'net. CANNNOT listen to him, cannot watch him. And I've seen many people here at DU say basically the same thing.
