WhiteHouse backtracks in row over fired U.S. Attorneys
Per CNN... http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/03/09/congress.prosecutors.ap/index.html

A U-tunr this quick makes me wonder just what they are hiding/covering up....

What is interesting is that Abu Gonzales got his ass in gear right-quick when he though maybe HIS ass was on the line..

This could get interesting...

1. Gonzales' aides had better testify in public and under oath
and this must not be the end of the matter, either. If Gonzales was involved in firing attorneys for not carrying out partisan assassination prosecutions, he should impeached promptly for misuse of his office.

3. But will the purged attorneys get their jobs back? That wrong has to be righted...
...or literally, TANJ.

And oh yes, what else is Little Torquemada hiding?

4. Well, I know they REALLY pissed off Senator Ensign (R-NV).
Apparently they out-and-out lied to him about why Bogden was fired.

They are screwing their OWN people now.

5. My take is that somewhere in that group of fired.............
U.S. Attorneys there is only one that is the real target and a case that they were working on, not an old case, was the reason they were canned in order to stop it in it's tracks. If there are sealed indictments they are just that.....sealed, and no one can speak about it. This way they never see the light of day.

6. "There would be no need for subpoenas to compel testimony by five of Gonzales' aides...
...involved in the firings, as the Democrats had threatened. Cloistered in the stately hideaway of Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Pat Leahy, D-Vermont, the attorney general assured those present that he would permit the aides to tell their stories."

which i suppose means NOT UNDER OATH? i like the 'he would PERMIT' bit too. funny.
