One of my favorite SNL episodes is the one he hosted -- he filmed a skit with the cast of the West Wing, including the late great John Spencer. Al definitely held up his end when it came to acting ... though there are certain giveaways when he's kidding (which some commentators missed when they spread the false rumour that he actually HAD been on the verge of announcing something at the Oscars!).

I was lucky enough to bag a DVD copy on eBay (a limited number were distributed for the Emmy vote, since that was the episode they chose as a sample that year).

"Al Gore: Say, John.. could you do me a small favor?

John Spencer: Of course.

Al Gore: I'm gonna stand over here by the window, with my back to you. And I'd like you to.. step up to the desk and say, "Mr. President? The Joint Chiefs want an answer."
