Proposal: Subtract-a-Rec
What do you do when you come across a post that's so asinine, so inarticulate or poorly reasoned, so outright offensive that you want to send it back to Stupidville where it came from? I propose a solution which might prove to be both simple and entertaining: Subtract-a-Rec! It's the opposite of a recommendation for the greatest page--instead, if your post gets five Subtract-a-Recs, it gets sent to the Dungeon for Idiotic Posts, where it will languish in ignominy for 24 hours and heaped with righteous DU scorn, before being removed from the site forever. What do you think? If we can give a post a thumb's up, how about a thumb's down option--one that carries some amusing consequences?

1. No, That's a griefer's paradise
Posters will merely wander around issuing "neg-recs" to their least favorite posters. Can you imagine the wars which would break out between rival candidate supporter groups?

2. I agree. the idea, although a good one, would lead to chaos and censorship
of good articles by anyone, freepers included.
so it's better to alert the moderators.

4. Maybe. Or it might provide some incentive to keep the rah-rah threads
in the candidate forums, where they belong. No?

5. I disagree
many, many posts pass through with just a few or no comments. That in itself should serve as it's own "non-recommendation".
