Query: Does Obama write his own speeches?
He is so brilliant and so articulate that I suspect he does. If you know, please tell me.

1. articulate?
haha. I know you meant it sincerely but expect some feedback on that word.

Regarding your question, I am not sure and would like to know myself.

5. Some people are doing it on purpose
They've decided there was never anything racist about the use of the word, so they go out of their way to use it at every opportunity. I'm not saying the OP is doing that, but I have noticed a trend amongst some other DUers. I don't think it's a bit funny. Makes me sick to my stomach, to tell the truth about it.

10. It is a compliment. That is all there is to it.
Bush is inarticulate. Edwards, the Clintons and Obama are articulate. McCain is somewhat articulate but not as articulate as the Democrats. Romeny and Giuliani are also articulate. I believe the criticism of Biden regarding the use of the term articulate to describe Obama arose because of the context in which Biden used the word. There is nothing derogatory about saying someone is articulate as long as you don't say it in a way or in a context that demeans the person you are talking about.

3. Probably not all on his own
Most politicians simply don't have time to craft their own speeches and that's why they hire speech writers. Although I would imagine that Obama like other smart politicians sits down with his speech writers and discusses the speeches with them.

4. Clinton they said wrote a GOOD DEAL of his own speeches..

And if any of the other candidates do write their own.. .... I'd think Barack would be one of them that does as he can.

6. I've read that he wrote all his major speeches:
speech at the Dem Convention, announcement for Prez campaign, speech to the religious group's convention.

However it was also noted that in the future he probably will not have the time, & will have to rely more on speech writers.

8. He is highly experienced in speech writing and editing...
You don't become Editor of the Harvard Law Review without it.

7. If you had read any of his books that are honest and eloquent,
you can see that he writes his own speeches.

9. The guy's a good writer--he's certainly capable.
I did read that he wrote his convention speech himself.
