Poll question: If Al Gore's running, when's the absolute latest he can declare?
Given the early intensity of this race, and the depth of the field, with three candidates regularly polling around 20% or higher and the potential for someone in the strong so-called second-tier of Richardson, Dodd et al catching fire if/when fatigue sets in, how much time does Gore have to decide if he's in or out?

1. Even in Gore's case
the front-loaded calendar really means he's got to get organized in September or the very beginning of October at the latest.

3. Remember, it can't be until after July
And the world-wide concerts. He has to make sure to put enough distance between the concerts and his run or else they become the "Gore for Presdeint" concerts.

His current pattern and statements suggest that he's most likely annoucning in September.

7. It will give him a week
to bask in the glow of his Nobel Peace Prize win on Dec. 10th., the 18th to get his feet back on the ground and network news shuts down on the East Coast about then. :hi:

6. Al Gore is not running and it's ridiculous to keep bringing it up. That should have been
the last choice.

9. October-December
I voted October-December, mainly because we are now being told that the massive February primaries will bring the thing to an end. I suppose, however, there are various state rules for getting on the ballots for the February event. So, I admit, September may be more realistic. I think it is possible that the public will be so sick of internecine warfare in both parties by the end of this year they will be looking for an unscathed alternative.
