and last night O'Reilly picked up the torch

O’Reilly Compares Nevada Debate Opponents To Nazis »
Tonight, Bill O’Reilly attacked the “radical movement” that opposed the Nevada Democratic Party’s debate with Fox News. O’Reilly said that MoveOn, “the Daily Kos or whatever that stupid thing is,” and others “use propaganda techniques perfected by Dr. Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi minister of information. They lie, distort, defame, all the time.” Progressive activists attack Fox News because “we report on them accurately,” O’Reilly said.

Former White House aide Lanny Davis, a close ally of Sen. Joseph Lieberman (I-CT), joined in the fray. “I’m inclined to give everybody the benefit of the doubt here except the people that are calling for cancellation of the debate because they don’t like Fox,” Davis said. “I disagree with this pressure from Daily Kos and MoveOn.org to cancel the debate, and I think anybody that took that pressure, including John Edwards ought to be ashamed of themselves.”

1. Sorry, don't see where anyone in either link used the word "fascists."
You can't say these groups were 'officially' called fascists by Fox News, or a Fox News guest, if it isn't so. You are paraphrasing what they said (which is bad enough, but still). Please be careful.

2. That's a good example...
of why any Democratic debate should not include faux news.

3. Isn't it interesting-and so telling-that democrats and like
minded individuals and organizations have refrained from bringing up references to Hitler and the axis powers of WWII (Remember the extent that Moveon went to to yank the, imo, accurate participant-supplied hitlerain political ad) while the repork propaganda wing is allowed-nay, encouraged-prattle on using those same ideas.
The only thing that these Goebbels inspired traffickers in misinformation have that exceeds their mal-intent is their blatant ignorance. Arrogant ignorance is insanely marketable.

One must keep in mind, while they were condemning any reference to themselves as abhorrent influences on today's society, the very administration that started the discussion used those same terms, referring to their perceived enemies as the "axis of evil," not the "allies of evil" or the circle of friends, but the axis of evil.

Shameless hypocrisy is truly their stock in trade.

5. One of Goebbels' most effective tactics....
was blaming others for what he himself was doing.

6. Why.....I'm shocked!
FAUX News is repulsed by anyone who dares question their unbending support of the Bush regime? :wow:

I'm also shocked that a LIEberman ally thinks it was a bad move. :wow:

“I’m inclined to give everybody the benefit of the doubt here except the people that are calling for cancellation of the debate because they don’t like Fox,” Davis said.

So....you'll give everybody the benefit of the doubt except those who disagree with you? That narrows it down a bit, doesn't it? :eyes:

Fuck FAUX News, fuck O'Lielly, fuck LIEberman toadies and fuck anyone else who doesn't realize that this was a ploy by FAUX to trap the Democrats into saying something, ANYTHING that could later be used against them during the campaign for the Presidency. We're not all as dense as FAUX viewers, you know? :eyes:

7. Republicans have brought themselves out
of their 40 year "wilderness" by using Goebbels" Model.
The Republicans are expert at finding an appropriate
soundbite, making it a talking point and repeating
it over and over onTV.

Takes one to know one I would say. They are so
expert at Fascist Practices, they try to project
this onto Dems.

Dems do not repeat things enough for any one idea
to stick.
