Gutless wonders.
Our newly elected Dems are proving to be as impotent now as they were when they were the minority. New ink, same rubber stamp.

"WASHINGTON - Democratic leaders are stripping from a military spending bill for the war in
Iraq a requirement that
President Bush gain approval from Congress before moving against
Iran."

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (news, bio, voting record), D-Calif., and other leaders agreed to remove the requirement concerning Iran after conservative Democrats as well as other lawmakers worried about its possible impact on
Israel, officials said Monday."

1. Yes, doesn't it make you want to wring their necks?
Everyone should be writing Congress right now. We should all be flooding our Congresscritters with mail demanding investigation for impeachment and an end to this war.

4. Did you really expect impeachment?
I've noticed that alot of people here are disappointed with the new congress. I guess my hopes weren't as high as yours, but, realistically, did you expect impeachment and an immediate end to the war?

2. You would think they would have a little more concern for our country.
Just about every Dem presidential candidate has been out there kissing AIPACs ass. Great leadership Nancy.

The vast majority of Americans want us out of the war we're in already, and you won't even require these murderous traitors in the White House to get constitutionally required consent from Congress to start another one.

I'm already getting a couple of envelopes per week wanting me to make donations to your campaigns. They're all going right in the rubbish unopened.

3. I knew people were going to be disappointed
Cats don't just up and change their stripes just because they have a majority....

This crap has been going on since 1994- and so long as the the Republican lite types hold enough sway, it WILL continue.

6. This is just too unbelievable for words.
Just a couple of questions: What impact upon Israel would there be by our requiring the Dictator to get congressional approval before going to war against Iran? How does that impact Israel, at all?

What are the congressional Democrats afraid of? Wait, I get it, they aren't afraid of anything, this is just the nature of their political beliefs! I finally "get" it! The Democrats, as a party, are in favor of war in Iraq, and war with Iran, and god knows how many other wars to kill their way to oil and global power! I have seen the light! The conservative "Blue Whore" Democrats are the ones who are really in control of the party! Why aren't these Blue Whores in the Republican Party?

7. I am beginning to suspect that either we or Israel will be bombing Iran
pretty soon. There must be some sort of tacit agreement between our country and theirs that Iran will be taken care of, and they are just waiting for the right moment. Nothing else makes sense in light of Dems' giving Chimpy free rein here.

8. Gutless is not the word I would use...
"Complicit" is. After all these years the fear argument doesn't cut it with me anymore. We all have choices, and the choices these representatives make are calculated and with known consequences.

9. AIPAC exerting its right wing agenda
once more.

Correct me if I'm wrong about this but the "I" in AIPAC does not represent the entire country of Israel or its populace, rather they are representative of a very conservative political agenda that resists most, if not all, dialogue with Palestinians and others of their neighbors.

Meanwhile more moderate voices in Israel are mostly silent, at least on these shores, in no small part on account of the influence of AIPAC.

10. I thought they were all on Cipro. What's the problem with them?
If they're not with us, they're against us.
