5. They each have bills before the Senate that similar

and it was interesting to see both Senators speak about the same things. This is good and does show progress on march to get the US out of Iraq.

10. It is better, but
It does not have the votes. The Resolution on the floor moves the ball forward. That is progress. You don't turn down progress because it's not perfect. You take this and then build on it for the next step. It seems to me that Sens Obama and Kerry are doing that.

9. It was a brief appearance
Because there is a vote coming up on the 9/11 bill.

However, both Senators made the same points:

The US needs to set a deadline and begin to pressure the Iraqis to step up and take over their own security concerns in their country. The Resolution that is set to go before the Senate does not go as far as either Sens Kerry or Obama would like it to, but it is a better bill than the last one and a further step down the path of achieving this goal.

The speeches brought up a lot of the same points as far as what the new Resolution will do and went through why it was justified.
