Troops told Dems are cutting their food rations?!?
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jeffrey-feldman/cheneys-murderdeathkil_b_43261.html

"While reading some other blogs today-I cames accross an article also saying that in Iraq they have heard of soldiers there being told such lies that thier food rations are being cut because Dems are cutting funding. They are also saying this about gear and armour. I hope Dems in the House here in the US would comment publicly-over and over-to combat GOP rhetoric-now threatening to politically divide our troops overseas. Whoever is starting these rumours in Iraq-should face courtmarshalling.
bethincary"

She doesn't specify which blogs. Can anyone verify this? (I wouldn't put it past the repuke end of the officer corps).

1. Wouldn't surprise me.
The troops are fed Fax news as an appetizer daily. What more can I say?

9. FOX, Windbag, and any other right wing media should be banned from the
Armed Forces Radio & Television Service.

If Windbag wants to get his message to the Military station overseas then he should offer FREE subscription to his website.

3. Don't Worry TOO Much About That
Most of our soldiers have weekly access to people in the United States and they are always hungry for REAL news.

And soldiers talk. Gossip, actually. If you tell a troop something, it gets to the whole bunch of them rather quickly.

I have emailed my brother and assured him that no cuts to his rations are being made by the Democrats.

He responded by telling me that the food is actually somewhat better for him this time around. He hasn't had to eat a dreaded MRE yet, and while he gets two meals each day, they are big ones, hot, with a good protein and several good carbs. Fresh vegetables are in short supply, but he does get canned vegetables.

The GOP has never counted on a couple of things:

1. That our troops are not total morons

2. That military families would be worried about the TROOPS, not the GOP talking points

3. That our troops have access to the Internet, and some (like my brother) even have working cell phones

The military families will set our soldiers straight. At this point, our troops believe NOTHING that this cabal tells them...although it is sickening that they would play with the minds of our soldiers who are already stretched to the breaking point mentally in this obscene war. The GOP have absolutely NO conscience or scruples.

7. All true, which make me wonder
how hard does the media have to search to find the Rah Rah troops we always see on TV?

I sometimes wonder if there's a Potemkin Village base over there, manned entirely by troops with the right Hollywood look and proper gung-ho attitude. I mean, not EVERY man over there can be 6'2", 180lbs, mean green fighting machine Ooh-Rah! But I don't know when the last time was I saw someone on the news who wouldn't fit right in on a recruiting poster.

8. Well...
What a soldier says in private to family and what he or she says "officially" can sometimes be very different.

Complainers tend to be overlooked for promotions, and that is the sad truth.

4. Typical manipulative tactics by chickenhawk-led military,
Brainwashing allowed & encouraged.

Those poor troops are already psychologically zapped by what they see & deal w/daily, not to mention many are on their 3rd tour of this mind-bending hell.
As many of us saw on TV news yesterday, these guys are in hell & it is making at least 1/3 of them crazy.

Chickenhawks are trying to create the division between troops & citizens when they come home, just like we had in Vietnam.
Damn them!:grr:
