George Bush wrapped up a tour of Latin America tonight with little to show
for his six-day swing through the region.

The US president was due to head home with no substantive deals or
immediate evidence that the public relations offensive had salvaged
Washington's reputation in the five countries he visited.

No breakthroughs had been expected but Mr Bush hoped to soften hostility
towards himself and his administration's policies on trade and immigration
by expressing concern for the region's poor.

His stops in Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Guatemala and Mexico, chosen for
their relatively friendly governments, were marked by street protests and
lukewarm to cold reviews by local media.

2. It sounds to me like Bush is getting what he deserves.
That is, everywhere except here in America where our leaders continue to allow him to rape our Constitution, trample our rights, and abuse our treasury.

Hopefully, someday he will get when he deserves here in America as well: a trial, followed by prison time.

3. When 'the problem' comes to visit you and shake your hand.........
there can be ONLY one response....suspicion of the motives. Once 'the problem' is gone, ONLY then will relations begin to be repaired.

4. Less than nothing, as usual.
What did we, the taxpayer, get out of this trip? Whatever it cost us to send Dimson on this wasted 6 day tour de farce.
