Edwards announces more than a dozen field staffers
Associated Press

----
DES MOINES, Iowa--Former North Carolina Senator John Edwards has hired more than a dozen new staffers as the Democratic presidential candidate builds an organization for Iowa's leadoff precinct caucuses.

The staff will be headed by Jennifer O'Malley, who was Iowa field director for Edwards during his 2004 campaign.

Jackie Lee, who was a regional field director for Edwards in the 2004 campaign, will run field organizations, and Pat Maloney will take over as political director for the state.

2. Was Edwards at the firefighters forum earlier today?
I'm seeing all this coverage of Obama and Hillary, but was Edwards there as well? He's got good union support -- this would seem like a natural constituency for him.

4. Great -- figure that *ucker and his show are ignoring him ...
He must have done really well if they're refusing to mention his speech!!! Hope C-Span has this on later so I can catch Edwards.

6. They do this at their peril ... even *ucker was saying
that Obama's speech today was disappointing. I love Obama but I feel like he and Edwards are the hare and the tortoise: Edwards has done this before and is quietly, steadily and effectively running his race, under the radar of the shooting stars ... and may reap the benefits later in the campaign.

7. I agree with that completely....
He's going to emerge as the front runner. I'm sticking to that ...
