15. The embed for Clark at MSNBC (article up there now) tells how she
discussed the primary season with Clark. He said that the way it was set up the voters didn't get a chance to really know the candidates. He mentioned the possiblility of VOTERS REMORSE.................

Joe Klein in his article in Time this week talks about Kerry's "weathered sobriety." What does that mean? Another alcoholic? He and Theresa are known partiers, hence Sharpton's comment during the MTV debate about Theresa being the one he'd choose to party with. Interesting about his days off, last week, and more coming up. Reminds me of Bush during the 2000 campaign and his many days off during the last 3 years.

Then there's the cancer.
Then there's the crappy voting record. Then there's the rumored sexual stuff with staffers and the shabby treatment of his first wife. And the many people who can't stand him.

You know, if Kerry suddenly took a dive......who could the Democrats turn to??? Who has the stature?

(Wes Clark)

17. Gloria, Gloria
:loveya: This one is history though. If Kerry does a nose dive, then either the party would rehabilitate him, or they would go with Edwards. This is going to be a rough ride any way you look at it.

18. Your candidate's stature is diminished by your smears
Sobriety means seriousness, not alcoholism. Tossing mud does not reflect well on your candidate. (Wes Clark)

16. NO VP!!!! Or endorsement.! Wes has to maintain his credibility....
Work behind the scenes if necessary on his vision. I'd prefer him to avoid the Democratic Party at this point, except possibly for local candidates.

This is what he really thinks of Kerry/Edwards. He cannot sacrifice his reputation at this point. Why should he????? For Pete's sake, at the Virigina Jefferson-Jackson Dinner he finished his speech to a silent room as he very clearly implied that the Washington power structure had to change! He can't prostitute himself now.

Quotes

"They've spent months on the campaign trail criticizing George W. Bush and his reckless policies,
when in the 107th Congress, both men voted with the president almost 70 percent of the time.
Now, I'm no politician, but that doesn't seem to add up. I don't believe you can have it both ways.
I don't think you can stand with Bush one day and than against him once you decide to run for president."

3. Yes, it's emotionally like a death. We must grieve awhile.
I feel very litte enthusiasm for anybody, but just enough for Kerry to keep fighting. I'll probably get over this in a few weeks, especially if the General keeps inspiring us to fight on. But it sure does hurt.

5. Obviously would have made a great president
And he'll have more chances. I'm sure he learned a lot in this campaign (he was a rookie), so he will be well prepared for his next run.

In that respect, your campaign work was a direct benefit for Clark.

8. I know, I've posted the same sentiments many times tonight....
It's so shocking. He's such a great man and candidate. If he gets on the ticket as VP I can get back into it with my heart.

12. Yeah, I agree. I think reality is setting in....
Especially after watching him on C-SPAN and with Aaron Brown.

Watching his "dropping out" speech, I couldn't help but wonder if life would have been different if he'd started six months earlier and/or campaigned in Iowa.

*Sigh*
