CLEVELAND (OH) – Elizabeth Kucinich, the British-born wife of Ohio Congressman and Democratic Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, has accepted an invitation to participate in the spring meeting of Democrats Abroad in Heidelberg, Germany, March 15-17.
The organization, officially known as the Democratic Party Committee Abroad (DPCA), represents the interests of millions of U.S. citizens in more than 70 countries throughout Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and the Antipodes. It is recognized as a "state" Party by the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
Mrs. Kucinich will be meeting with leaders of the group, including International Chairman Michael A. Ceurvorst, and attending several delegate sessions to present her husband’s campaign platform on issues ranging from the war in Iraq to national health care, foreign trade policies, and international treaties.
“Democrats Abroad represents millions of Americans who see first-hand, every day, how the arrogance and belligerence of the Bush Administration are destroying our relationships with other governments around the world and negatively affecting our reputation and respect among the citizens of those countries,” Mrs. Kucinich said.
“I am deeply honored to have this opportunity to address the issues that these citizen- emissaries confront every day in every corner of the world,” she said.
